These are the kinds of things people tell us after a service. We share them because they reflect what we are actually trying to do — not what we say we do.

Bangkok · Quartz Service
"I brought in my father's old Seiko — it had been sitting in a box for years. They changed the battery, checked the seals, and cleaned the case. Finished the same day. No fuss, no extra charges. The watch is running well and looks much better."

"My automatic had not been serviced in over a decade. They were upfront about the timeline — two and a half weeks — and contacted me halfway through with an update. The timing report they gave me on collection was a nice touch. It runs noticeably more steadily now."

Bang Rak · Dial Refresh
"I asked about a dial refresh and they were quite honest — they said it would improve the look but might slightly reduce the aged patina I actually liked. I appreciated that. They did a careful job and the dial looks cleaner without losing its character. The service note was useful too."

"Living in Bangkok, I was not sure where to take my dress watch. I asked around and Chang Watchworks came up consistently. The process was easy, the person at the counter explained everything in clear English, and the turnaround was exactly as promised. Straightforward and professional."

"My grandfather's automatic had not kept time properly for years. I expected to be told it was beyond repair. Instead, they assessed it, confirmed it was worth servicing, and quoted clearly before starting. Three weeks later it came back keeping much better time. Worth every baht."

"I walked in without an appointment. They were with another customer but did not rush the previous person. When they got to me, they took the time to explain what they were going to do, which I appreciated. My watch was ready by early afternoon. Will go back for sure."

In more detail
Three watches, three different situations.
Case study 01 — Quartz dress watch, circa 1998
The situation
A customer brought in a dress watch that had stopped. The battery had been replaced twice elsewhere in the past two years, each time lasting only a few months. They were concerned the movement was damaged.
What we found
The battery contacts had developed minor corrosion, causing intermittent drain. The capacitor was also showing age-related wear. A standard battery change would not have lasted. We replaced the battery, treated the contacts, and checked the seals.
The outcome
The watch has been keeping time reliably since May 2026, over a year after the service. Total cost: ฿1,460, which included everything. The customer was advised to return in three years for a routine check.
Case study 02 — Automatic, family heirloom, approx. 40 years old
The situation
An automatic watch passed down through a family had not been serviced in at least fifteen years. It still ran but lost around four minutes a day. The owner was not sure if it was worth the cost to service.
What we found
The mainspring oil had degraded significantly. The escapement showed wear consistent with long service without lubrication, but all parts were intact and usable. A full service was appropriate and worth the investment.
The outcome
After a complete mechanical service, the movement showed +6 seconds per day in the timing report — a significant improvement from −4 minutes. Total cost: ฿4,120. The owner described it as the first time the watch had felt right in years.
Case study 03 — Dial refresh enquiry, vintage dress watch
The situation
A collector brought in a 1970s dress watch asking about dial restoration. The watch ran well but the dial showed age spots and some light discolouration. He asked whether full restoration was advisable.
What we found
A full restoration would have removed the original patina, which we felt reduced the value and character of the piece. We recommended only surface cleaning rather than restoration, and explained our reasoning clearly.
The outcome
The collector agreed with the conservative approach. Surface cleaning was carried out for ฿2,920. He later mentioned he had spoken with another workshop who had quoted him a full restoration without raising any of the concerns we had flagged.
